Accessibility Statement
government-schemes.org/ aims to make government-scheme information easier to access for readers using different devices, screen sizes, reading levels, and assistive technologies.
Last updated: June 6, 2026
Our accessibility goal
Government scheme information should be understandable and usable by as many readers as possible. Many visitors may use low-cost mobile phones, slower internet connections, small screens, older browsers, translation tools, screen readers, or shared devices. Our accessibility goal is to create pages that are readable, organized, mobile-friendly, and easy to navigate.
Mobile first
Pages should work on small screens without horizontal scrolling or broken buttons.
Clear structure
Headings, lists, tables, and steps should help readers scan the page quickly.
Plain language
We explain complex official terms in direct English wherever possible.
Design practices we follow
- Use clear headings and subheadings to organize long pages.
- Keep paragraphs readable and avoid unnecessary jargon.
- Use step-by-step blocks for application, status-check, correction, renewal, and download tasks.
- Make tables horizontally scrollable on small screens when needed.
- Use visible links with descriptive anchor text.
- Avoid relying only on color to communicate meaning.
- Keep buttons and cards responsive for mobile users.
- Add warnings where users may need to avoid fake links, OTP sharing, or unofficial agents.
Content accessibility
Accessibility is not only a technical issue. It also means writing information in a way people can understand. We try to explain official processes in plain English, provide context for documents and eligibility, and break complex tasks into smaller steps. When possible, we include FAQs and practical notes to answer common questions that official pages may not address clearly.
Known limitations
Some content may depend on external websites, official PDFs, videos, embedded maps, or third-party platforms that we do not control. These external resources may not always meet the same accessibility standards. We also may not be able to provide alternative formats for every official document linked from our pages.
Videos and embeds
When we include videos, screenshots, or embedded content, we use them to support the written guide, not replace it. Important instructions should still be available in text so users who cannot watch a video can understand the process.
Feedback
If you face an accessibility issue on government-schemes.org/, please contact us with the page URL, your device/browser if comfortable sharing, and a short description of the problem. We especially welcome feedback about mobile layout issues, unreadable tables, unclear links, confusing steps, or content that is difficult to use with assistive technology.
